(KNUST) was just named the finest tertiary institution in Ghana by US News and World Report. The University of Cape Coast was also named the top institution in Ghana by Times Higher Education. Everything is planned for the year 2022.
However, in a statement on the University of Ghana's website, it stated that it wants to tell the university community and the general public of its achievement. As a result, Webometrics and the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index have named them Ghana's top university.
Out of 31,000 Higher Education institutions from over 200 countries, Webometrics ranks the university 11th in Sub-Saharan Africa and 1,1121 globally.
On the other hand, the Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index ranks the institution first in Ghana, 15th out of 2,049 universities in Africa, and 1,074 out of 14, 284 universities worldwide.
Both institutions used established metrics of excellence to rank universities. They include educational quality, faculty quality within a single university, worldwide cooperation, Clarivate Analytics' selection of highly cited scholars, and others.
"Congratulations on these achievements to Faculty, Graduate Students, and all other members of the University community who continue to uplift the University of Ghana in Ghana, Africa, and the world through their hard work and commitment to academic excellence," said Director of Public Affairs Elizier T. Ameyaw-Buronyah in the post.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University of Cape Coast, and the University for Development Studies all trail the University of Ghana.
